Utilities

Water is supplied by the Helix Water District.  Electricity and natural gas are provided by San Diego Gas & Electric.  Telephone service is available through AT&T or Cox Communications.  Cable television service is provided by Cox Communications.  Sewer collection service is provided by the Lemon Grove Sanitation District and sewage treatment is provided by the San Diego Metropolitan Wastewater Department.  The City’s waste hauler is EDCO Disposal. 

Transportation

Bus service and light rail service (the red trolley) are provided by the Metropolitan Transit System.  The City’s two trolley stations are located on Lemon Grove Avenue at Broadway and at Massachusetts Avenue.

Schools

Primary education in the City is provided by the Lemon Grove School District, nationally recognized for technological innovation (LemonLINK).  Grossmont Union High School District (GUHSD) provides secondary and adult education.  Helix High School and Mt. Miguel High School serve Lemon Grove.  See also Local School Information.  San Diego State University is 5 miles away, and Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College is 7.5 miles away.
